7 Segment LED Breakout Board November 17 2012
The idea behind this adaptor was to simplify the process of adding a 7 segment LED to any project in the prototyping stage. So instead of wasting time on hooking up the LED, 7 resistors connecting the BCD(Binary Coded Decimal) decoder, one can simply plug this module onto the breadboard and get the desired functionality.
The module takes 6 inputs:
The IC 7448 is responsible for converting the BCD pattern to output pattern that drives the 7 segment display(through the current limiting resistors).
The module takes 6 inputs:
- Value B (2)
- Value C (4)
- VCC
- Value D (8)
- Value A (1)
- GND

Note: Since I am using a Common Cathode 7 Segment Display (LT543) I need a 7448 IC. if you have a Common Anode display then you would need to use a 7447 IC,
